Leadership Equivalents
To encourage downline growth and stability rather than breaking out a large number of first-level Managers, Nature’s Sunshine developed a permanent method whereby sales leaders are rewarded for developing first-level Managers into the ranks of Star Manager and beyond. This Leadership Equivalent program reduces the total number of first-level Managers required for rank advancement and maintenance.

**Leadership Equivalents are averaged over a six-month period beginning January 1.
Example: Sage is an Area Manager with nine first-level Managers and 14 total downline Managers. One of her first-level Managers, Sue, is also an Area Manager. Sue’s rank of Area Manager gives Sage one Leadership Equivalent, making her a Regional Manager (she now has 10 first-level and 15 total downline Managers with the equivalent).
